About

Supplements, without the guesswork.

Litmus helps you find a supplement that fits your goal, your body and your budget — in plain English, with an honest read on what the evidence actually says.

Why we built it

The supplement aisle is overwhelming. Thousands of products, each promising more than the last, wrapped in marketing that's designed to sell rather than inform. If you're a gym-goer trying to figure out which protein actually suits you, or an older adult looking after your bones, joints, heart or immunity, the honest answer is buried under noise — and half of it isn't safe to trust at face value.

We wanted a tool that answered one simple question: given who I am and what I need, what's actually worth taking — and what should I avoid? A litmus test for supplements. That's where the name comes from.

How it works

You tell us your goal and your constraints — the allergens you can't have, whether you're vegan, whether you want to skip caffeine, sweeteners or added sugar, and what you're willing to spend. We check every product against those rules before it's ever shown to you, so anything unsafe for you is filtered out rather than flagged after the fact.

Then we translate the label. Instead of a wall of ingredients, you get a plain-English read on what a product is good for, how much real evidence sits behind it, and whether it's decent value. No jargon, no hype.

How we rate the evidence

Every product on Litmus carries one of three honest verdicts. It's the loudest thing on each card, on purpose — it's the whole point.

We'd rather tell you something is weakly supported and lose the sale than dress it up. A rating never depends on whether we earn a commission from it.

We are not a shop. Litmus doesn't sell anything or hold stock. We point you to trusted retailers and, when you buy through our links, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. That's how the site stays free. It never changes which products we show you or where they rank.

Our promise

A note on health

Litmus is an information tool, not medical advice. Supplements aren't a substitute for a balanced diet or for care from a qualified professional. If you're pregnant, managing a health condition, or taking medication, please check with your GP or pharmacist before starting anything new.
